Well here's our suggestion: Wear it like a western hero wears his gun in his holster. Don't fix the belt of your CAMSLINGER to high (around your waist). Fix it casually around your hip. In this way you don't have to move your arm to get access to your cam and lenses because your hand is on the same level as the bag and the buckle.

Just think you're John W. walking around with a mirrorless camera on your hip.

Hier ist unser Vorschlag: Trage sie wie ein Westernheld seinen Revolver trägt. Befestige den Gürtel nicht zu hoch (etwa um den Bauch) sonder locker und lässig an der Hüfte. So musst Du nicht mal den Arm bewegen, um an Kamera und Objektive zu gelangen, da Deine Hand ganz natürlich auf Höhe der Tasche und dem Verschluss ist.

Stell Dir einfach vor, Du seist John W. und spaziertest mit einer Kompakten Systemkamera an Deiner Hüfte durch die Gegend.

EN - The making of "A Photoblogger's Philosophy - Chris Gampat in Berlin"

Back in November 2013 I had the pleasure to welcome Chris Gampat, Editor in Chief and founder of the blog "The Phoblographer" in Berlin. The New York based blog has many hundred thousand visitors each month and me myself I am a long time reader and like it very much. It's a cool mixture of gear review, photo news and other stuff all around photography. Chris came across the Atlantic ocean right from New York to talk about his philosophy and to be the center of our first video in the series "A Photoblogger's Philosophy".

Chris is a super nice guy and we met up for a first time in September 2013 when I was in New York. I showed him one of the first of our Camslinger prototypes and some days later I asked him spontaneously if he would come to Berlin for this video project about photoblogger's. He said immediately yes and I was amazed.

His flight came via Brussels and he stuck there for the whole day because the belgian pilots were on strike. Jan Wagner, director/camera guy, and me were a little stressed, as we had just about two days for this project. And the poor Chris wasn't that lucky too. He told me that he gave some camera and photo instructions to other waiting passengers. So at least these guys had profound profits while waiting. The idea of the video was, that Chris should walk through the streets of Berlin, take some images and talk about his philosophy. But it wasn't that easy, because his luggage was not in the plane and so we had to go first into a H&M store to buy some clothes for him.

And also the major part of his gear was in that luggage. So he was using my OM-D when we were turning the first day. His bags came in the evening and for the second day he used his X-Pro 1. Man that was a heart shaking start but nevertheless we had a lot of fun.

Then Jan made an interview with Chris. That was in Jan's kitchen in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg and it was great and very inspiring to listen to Chris.

GER - The making of "A Photoblogger's Philosophy - Chris Gampat in Berlin"

Im November 2013 hatte ich das Vergnügen Chris Gampat, Gründer und Chefredakteur des Blogs "The Phoblographer" in Berlin zu begrüßen. The Phoblographer hat mehrere hunderttausend Leser jeden Monat. Es ist die richtige Mischung aus Tests, News und vielen anderen Themen rund um Fotografie, die den Blog auch zu meiner täglichen Lektüre machen. Chris kam nach Berlin, um über seine Philosopie zu reden und im Mittelpunkt unseres ersten Videos in der Serie "A Photoblogger's Philosophy" zu stehen.

Wir trafen uns zum ersten Mal im September 2013 in New York, als ich ihm einen der ersten Prototypen unserer Camslinger-Taschen zeigte. Er ist ein super netter Typ und einige Tage später fragte ich in spontan, ob er Lust hätte in dem Projekt mitzuwirken. Er sagte zu und ich war ziemlich aus dem Häuschen.

Er flog dann im November mit Zwischenstopp in Brüssel, wo er den ganzen Tag festhing, weil die Piloten streikten. Jan Wagner, Regisseur und Kameramann, und ich waren etwas gestresst, weil wir nur zwei Tage für den Dreh hatten. Und der arme Chris hing in Brüssel fest. Er erzählte mir, dass er interessierte Mitwartende mit Tipps und Tricks zu Kameras und Fotografie versorgte – so konnten wenigsten diese Glücklichen von der Situation profitieren. Die Idee des Videos war, dass Chris durch Berlin spazieren, Fotos machen und über seine Philosophie sprechen sollte. Aber so einfach war das nicht, denn sein Gepäck war nicht mitgekommen und wir mussten erst zu H&M und neue Klamotten kaufen.

Und dann war auch noch der Großteil seiner Ausrüstung in dem Gepäck. Also benutzte er am ersten Tag meine OM-D und am zweiten seine X Pro 1, die am Abend mit dem Gepäck ins Hotel geliefert wurde. Mann oh Mann, was ein aufregender Start; und trotzdem hatten wir viel Spaß.

Schließlich drehte Jan noch ein Interview mit Chris in seiner Küche in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg und es war total interessant und inspirierend Chris zuzuhören.

ENG - A city stroll with the Camslinger 105

If you are walking around the city you can see a lot happen around you. And while you might just put your wallet away and enjoy some strawberry ice cream, you see the photo you were waiting for all day. But as quick as the opportunity arises , so fast she will be over – because one has only one free hand.

The Camslinger 105 provides quick , one-handed access to your compact system camera. The camera bag hangs on hand at your hip , like a holster. And almost as fast as a Colt from the holster you can also get the camera out of the bag. It fits rigth inside it and slides in and out easily thanks to the internal padding. So the camera is ready to use in the blink of an eye.

Due to the small dimensions of the bag it is as discreet as the Compact System Cameras itself. It's  also possible to easily move the Camslinger bag forwards and backwards around your hip which increases the comfort and freedom of movement. In the beer garden you can sit down to drink, for example, a small water without putting the bag aside. It is possible to pull of a short sprint to change the point of view. You can always be ready to use your camera in the crowded subway, during rummaging at the flea market or at the BBQ at the river. In all of these cases the bag does not disturb you and hangs almost unnoticed on the belt.

In addition to that the fastening gives me a sense of security. The combination of the safety button and rubber band is amazingly practical and fast. The bag can be perfectly opened and closed from the top.

All in all, the Camslinger 105 is the ideal companion for photo walks around the city with very little equipment for me. It gives me the feeling of being always ready for the next photographic challenge.

Superman always needed a phone booth nearby to be ready for his heroic deeds. With the Camslinger the next heroic feat is just a 125stel seconds away.

THE WORLD BELONGS TO MIRRORLESS HEROES

Wenn man in der Stadt unterwegs ist passiert viel um einen herum. Und während man vielleicht gerade sein Erdbeereis genießt, sieht man das Foto auf dass man schon den ganzen Tag wartet. Und so schnell wie sich die Gelegenheit ergibt, so schnell ist sie auch wieder vorbei.

Mit der Camslinger 105 hat man die Sicherheit immer schnellen und einhändigen Zugriff auf seine Kamera zu haben. Die Kameratasche hängt griffbereit an der Hüfte, ähnlich wie ein Pistolenhalfter. Ähnlich schell wie einen Colt aus dem Halfter kann man auch die Kamera aus der Tasche holen. Die Kamera passt genau in die Tasche und gleitet dank der Innenpolsterung leicht rein und raus. So ist die Kamera innerhalb von wenigen Augenblicken einsatzbereit.

 Durch die geringen Maße der Tasche ist sie genauso unauffällig wie die Systemkameras selbst. Sie lässt sich außerdem bequem nach vorne und hinten verschieben. Dies erhöht den Tragekomfort und die Bewegungsfreiheit.
Man kann sich in den Biergarten setzen um gemütlich ein „kleines Wasser“ zu trinken ohne die Tasche abzulegen. Man kann mit einem kurzen Sprint die Position wechseln um den Blickwinkel zu verändern. Man kann in der überfüllten U-Bahn stehen, auf dem Flohmarkt stöbern oder und beim Grillen am Fluss trotz Bier und Bratwurst immer einsatzbereit sein. Bei all dem stört die Tasche nicht und trägt sich fast unbemerkt.

Was mir dazu noch ein Gefühl der Sicherheit gibt ist der Verschluss. Die Kombination aus Sicherheitsknopf und Gummiverschluss, die erstaunlich praktikabel und schnell ist, lässt sich von oben hervorragend öffnen und schließen. Von der hingegen ungleich schwieriger, was den Zugriff für alle erschwert die die Tasche nicht an der Hüfte haben.

Alles in allem ist die Camslinger 105 für mich die ideale Begleitung für Fotostreifzüge durch die Stadt. Man hat das Gefühl, dass trotz freier Hände immer bereit für die nächste fotografische Herausforderung zu sein.

Superman brauchte immer eine Telefonzelle in der Nähe um bereit für seine Heldentaten zu sein. Mit der Camslinger ist die nächste Heldentat nur eine 125stel Sekunde entfernt.
